Geoffrey Hooper

Founder of The Winterbotham Trust Company Limited. Previously Geoffrey was Vice President and Senior Area Representative for Lloyds Bank International Private Banking, a part of LLoyds Bank Plc, and a director of Lloyds (IPB) Americas SA. With more than 30 years experience in International banking and financial services, Geoffrey has worked in the UK, Spain, and Latin America with Lloyds Bank Plc, Natwest lnternational Trust Corporation (formerly Roywest Trust Corporation), the Arab Latin American Bank (Arlabank) and Tradition International S.A.

Ivan Hooper

Director

Our CEO, has spent more than twenty years at Winterbotham, starting as an Independent Consultant for The Winterbotham Trust Company (Uruguay) S.A., before joining the Group full time in July 2001. Ivan has a BSc. in Business Administration from the University of Bath, a MBA Wealth Managers, Fiduciaries and Trustees from the University of Manchester, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School on the Owners Presidents Management program.

Ivan is a member of STEP, a former STEP Council member, a founding member and past Chair of STEP - South America Branch and past Chair and current representative of STEP Caribbean and Latin America Region. He currently serves as a member of the STEP Governance Committee. A Fellow of the International Compliance Association and Licensed as a Principal by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas. Ivan sits on the board of various regulated financial institutions and family owned businesses. Participating as an Independent Director, Corporate Governance committee member and Audit committee member. Former Co-Chair of the Association of International Bank and Trust companies in The Bahamas and former Director of The Bahamas Financial Services Board. Ivan was a recipient of the STEP Founder’s Awards for Outstanding Achievement and the recipient of the Bahamas Financial Service Board FSI Excellence Award of Executive of the Year.

David Thain

Director

A senior banker Mr Thain has 35 years international banking experience in Jersey, Grand Cayman, Uruguay and The Bahamas. Prior to rejoining The Winterbotham Group as Chief Banking Officer in 2017 Mr Thain served as General Manager of a Swiss private bank for a period of 20 years.

Mr Thain received his Masters degree from the University of Kent. In addition he is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and holds the Professional Investment Certificate issued by the Institute of Financial Services.

Alberto Baco

Director

Alberto is currently Founder and Director of The Partnership for Modern PR, a Partner with GxG Consulting and Partner at OnetoOne. He is an attorney, CPA, and entrepreneur, with a successful career in company turnarounds, restructuring and senior management in both public and private sector. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico he then acquired a CPA license and finished a Juris Doctor degree. Since then he has held several positions in law firms, international accounting firms, government agencies and Board of Directors. Leadership positions as President of the Economic Development Bank, CEO of Marvel and Bohío International and Board seats in W Holdings, Assurant P.R and the Government Development Bank, among others. He is an active member of the YPO international organization, and at a local level, Alberto has held all head positions, including Chapter Chair. In 2013 he was appointed Secretary of Economic Development and Commerce by the Governor of Puerto Rico, and in 2016, he also assumed responsibilities as Chairman and President of the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico. He has been recognized for his public speaking and has been invited to participate in important business forums around the world.
